The House

American Record is the label at the center of the AMRE ecosystem — and the third act of one continuous, artist-owned story.

  1. Act I1980s–2000s

    The bands

Syrinx and Frenzy in pre-web Nassau County. Ajna Chakra in 1990s Boston. Great Day For Up and Ironweed carrying the lineage through Small Stone, SXSW, and a CBS sync. Every era of it is kept, in full, in the archive.

  2. Act II2011

    Magnetic Eye Records

The label instincts go public: Mike Vitali founds Magnetic Eye Records and launches it with his own band at catalog number one — Ironweed’s “Your World of Tomorrow,” MER001, co-issued with Small Stone. Artist-owned from the first pressing.

  3. Act III2022–

    American Record

Founded April 20, 2022 in Albany, New York — the same hands, a new console. New bands cut records at Studio IO666 and release at network speed: three Black Electric albums in six weeks, an Ironweed double-shot in a month, the ARC & CO 2025 Sampler mapping the roster in fourteen tracks, and the newest Asvara EP in April 2026.

  4. NowThe Network

    Built in-house, on purpose

The industry’s tools were never going to arrive on the label’s schedule, so the infrastructure is built here: PENNY for sovereign streaming at a true $0.01 a play, 33⅓ RPM for vinyl and merch, and the distribution desk for masters. The method is both-hands: tube amps, tape, and live-to-tape archival masters on one side; AI-era production tools and honest provenance labels — organic / hybrid / AI — on every surface.
