American Record Company (“ARC,” “we,” “us”) operates Penny Vault, a sovereign audio streaming and creator settlement platform. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use Penny Vault on mobile or web.
Information we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, user ID, authentication provider (email/password, Google, or Apple Sign-In), email verification status, and role (listener, artist, label, podcast).
- Financial & wallet data: wallet balance, credit balance, stream charges, payout thresholds, transaction history, and payment processor references (Stripe/PayPal). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Listening & usage data: tracks played, like/save preferences, stream counts, and app interaction events needed for billing and catalog personalization.
- Creator content: audio uploads, artwork, metadata, and studio recordings you submit.
- Device & technical data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and diagnostic logs for security and performance.
- Microphone & media (optional): if you use Artist Studio recording or upload features, we access microphone and local media files only with your permission.
- Support communications: messages you send to support@americanrecordcompany.com.
How we use information
- Authenticate you and maintain your sovereign node (account).
- Stream audio, process per-play micro-charges, and maintain your wallet ledger.
- Enable artist/label uploads, royalties, and payouts where applicable.
- Send transactional email (verification, password reset, account notices).
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Improve reliability, fix bugs, and comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (where applicable)
We process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), with your consent (optional features such as microphone access), and for legitimate interests (security, analytics, and platform integrity), balanced against your rights.
Third-party services
We use trusted processors including:
- Google Firebase — authentication and database hosting.
- Google Cloud Storage — secure audio and asset delivery.
- Stripe / PayPal — payment processing (subject to their privacy policies).
- Apple / Google — sign-in services when you choose those options.
These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to us.
Mobile information and SMS opt-in data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Data retention
We retain account and transaction records while your account is active and as required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. When you request account deletion, see our account deletion process. Deletion is typically completed within 30 days, except where law requires longer retention of specific financial records.
Your choices & rights
- Access / export: email support@americanrecordcompany.com with subject “Penny Vault Data Export Request.”
- Correction: update profile fields in-app or contact support.
- Deletion: use the official account deletion page.
- Marketing: Penny Vault does not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising profiles.
Children
Penny Vault is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.
Security
We use HTTPS, Firebase security rules, server-side verification for financial operations, and access controls for production systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; report concerns to support@americanrecordcompany.com.
International transfers
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our infrastructure providers operate, with appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
