Gallico

Albany, New York · est. 2024 · 2020–present · Active · Provenance: Hybrid

Melodic rock and roll — lonely-hearts songwriting with an endless-chase engine, across 'Gallico' and 'II'.

Biography

Gallico writes the roster's most open-hearted songs. On a label whose spine is acid doom and dark heavy, this is the project that says the quiet part in major keys: 'I Want You to Want Me,' 'Can't Wait to See You Again,' 'Lonely Hearts Club,' 'Holy Light.' The self-titled debut landed December 26, 2024 — the day after Christmas, a lonely-hearts release date if there ever was one — eleven tracks produced by the label's cross-country engine of Vitali with Andrew K in New Orleans and Greg O in Los Angeles.

'II' followed just five weeks later, and it shows the project's engine at work: 'Endless Chase' reappears from the debut re-cut at a faster clip — seventy-two seconds shorter, same pursuit — while 'Time Keeps on Slipping' and 'Someday I Will' make the chase explicit. Two records in five weeks, closing on 'Holy Light.' The romance is sincere; the release cadence is pure American Record. Both records feed the ARC & CO 2025 Sampler, where Gallico holds the closing three slots.
